You're using a computer from 2008, so be prepared for potential gaming setbacks. 2.53GHz or 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor with 3MB on-chip shared L2 cache running 1:1 with processor speed or 2.8GHz or 3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor with 6MB shared L2 cache. That's why people recommend Core CPUs over Xeons since Xeon single-core performance is traditionally less than that of a Core i5 or i7. My 5,1 with extremely better CPUs than you can get in a 2,1 struggles with Watch_Dogs and Assassin's Creed IV on any settings, so for any game that's poorly optimized for PC will struggle immensely, or really any game that focuses on single-core usage. Prerequisite You must have a Mac that is running OS X Mavericks. However, OP: unless you're playing older games, you're gonna have a bad time with that CPU depending on the game. Configure OS X Before Installing OS X Server on Your Server Computer. Buuuut a Mac Pro 2,1 certainly isn't used by most gamers. So for "most" gamers, Windows 7 might actually be a disadvantage. I don't necessarily "prefer" 10 over 7, but it's what I'm used to, it's futureproofed with DirectX 12 and people who use 4k and 5k displays to game will have a much easier time using the rest of the OS too. Now, in this specific instance, Windows 7 may be equally as good as 10 since the 5,1 and below really don't play well with 4k displays, especially with that card being too weak to play AAA games at 4k easily, so it's unlikely OP has one. You get DirectX 11.1 and 12 support which 7 doesn't have, and much much better support for HiDPI displays

I love Windows 7, don't get me wrong, it and OS X Tiger are the two greatest OSes ever created, IMO, but Windows 10 seems better for gaming marginally.
