Then you can edit it by for example changing the power hand from the hi hat to the ride, turn a dial to add more snare hits, change from crash cymbal to china, etc. You start with something in their groove library, like maybe hard rock 140 bpm or whatever. I don't know how much you've read up about EZD2 but the way you make songs is pretty cool. What I love though is that you can use both Edit Style and a MIDI grid to build your grooves. SD3 blows away EZD2 with respect to features, but honestly most of it is stuff I won't use. If you get a chance to listen with headphones or good speakers, compare how much better the hi hat and cymbals sound in SD3.0 and how the kick and snare pop. You could probably get by in EZ2 without buying any expansion pack, but I found the stock metal kit pretty lacking. You literally have nothing to lose :)ĮZD2 is $99 and the Made of Metal EZX is another $79., and SD3.0 is $399.

It sounds great.Ĭheck out toontrack's site for a full break down. And I am saying that at the same time as saying EZdrummer is a great product. EZdrummer cannot hold a candle to what SD3 is capable of. The problem with SD was that you had to buy expansion packs to do certain genres of music.ĮZdrummer2 and SD3 is not a fair comparison. The fact that you get 6 drumkits AND electronic drum samples in one package is extremely good. Really in depth stuff.įrom the little understanding I have of SD3, it's basically trying to converge everything together into one large package. Superior Drummer had a lot more options to tweak things. Same samples as Superior Drummer 2, just easier to use out of the box. I guess this a very weird issue.Reaper is a brilliant choice for a guitarist, and band work in general. PD3 Lol, searching about this issue in google has this thread now as 7th possible result, lol.

PD2 I did a quick search in the soundstats using notepad looking for the file giving me issues, and I can't find it described thereĬR01_02_DS_MT_R_L (I find that string) but not CR01_02_DS_MT_R_L03, so maybe that's the issue, but then I wouldn't know how to fix that, lol.
PD I suspect maybe there is a conflict with the soundstats file or one level above in any of those no extension files (averion, config, kitconf, you name it). well, you know, I find it SUPERIOR by a lot than other libs out there). I hope I made my case clear to get more help from you guys.Īnd if you ask me why I want to do this, you know SD routing is awesome and well, I'd like to stay within one of them (and exchanging items/drums to have your custom set is great).Īlthough it wouldn't be a big deal at the end, I feel Toontrack is the winner in the drums sampling department by 1000 miles above the rest (some hi hats sound delicious and I love all the snares and kicks and.
So, the EZX libs load no problems whatsoever. The weird thing I find also is that all SD2 libs are obw and the new EZX libs alas EZX2 (modern and vintage), whereas the EZX like Vintage (different vintage ofc), for example, are wav files.
And the obw I know (or I think I know) that it contains all the library sounds.
I get a warning window that reads " There is a discrepancy between the soundstats-file and the actual sounfiles." and "The file KD01_01_etc.wav is missing yadda yadda". Is just that I set the path for the EZDrummer 2 Modern Library,Īnd then when I select in superior drummer (2!!! lol) in the Construct window/view, I know all about the routes of the libraries.ĥth. Yes I meant SD2, I feel since it's the latest version, no clarifying of it was needed (and I am thinking about my issue when laying it out with words :P)Ĥth.
